Jim Gordon Benefit Skim Demo at GZ on Howe & Arden - WIN PRIZES-

Jim Gordon Benefit

Check out what flatland skimboarding is all about and help out Jim Gordon, owner of J-Gordon Skimboards who is undergoing treatment for cancer.

Our team will be setting up a skim run along with obstacles in our parking lot.  Watch the riders or bring your board and join in.  Please come out for the good times and show some support for Jim.

Enter the raffle to win prizes including the board that's changing skimboarding, the J-Gordon Retro Fish ocean/flatland hybrid, handmade by Jim Gordon.  There will be food and drinks to purchase.  All proceeds from this event go to help Jim's expenses.

GZ OWNER'S NOTE

Earlier this year, owner and operator of J-Gordon Skimboards, Jim Gordon, was diagnosed with throat cancer, even though he does not smoke or drink.  J-Gordon Skimboards is a very small operation.  Jim hand-makes each board himself and with the help of one son to make sure that the quality and craftsmanship of his product is at it's highest level, American made, 100 percent.  Due to the illness, J-Gordon Skimboards, Jim's livelihood, has been temporarily shut down until Jim can recover from the intense treatments he has had to endure.  To make matters worse, his insurance only covers 70% of his bills.

J-Gordon Skimboards has been an innovator in skimboarding and helped develop flatland skimboarding due to their progressive shapes and quality.  Flatland skimboarding is building from a similar grassroots base as 1970's skateboarding.  It's a tight and loyal movement that is growing throughout the world.  With decades of local history and progression, Sacramento is often considered the global center of flatland skimboarding, but it would not be what it is without Jim Gordon.

Thank you to ISM for setting up this event and all the event sponsors.
